In that drenched and dreamlike state of savasana, after a vigorous and thoughtful physical practice, I find that truths unfold. When peaceful equilibrium is achieved in the face of challenging postures, little treasures appear in the mindscape…there for the collecting and carrying to the world outside. Rinse (especially after hot yoga!) and repeat. I began practicing yoga in 2000, and quickly became hooked. Yoga simply brought calm to my state of mind—in addition to increased strength and flexibility to my body. I completed an Ashtanga teacher training with David Swenson several years later, and recently completed my 200 hour Teacher Training with One Voice in June 2018. The goal of my classes is to guide students to playfully challenge themselves within a healthy physical practice, while opening to the “knowing” present when the whirring mind finds quiet.
